Abstract

At its core, strong corporate governance is about preventing financial fraud and maintaining transparent and honest financial operations. rules, practices, and policies of corporate governance around the world that aim to safeguard companies from dishonest practices. Financial misconduct is facilitated by poor governance practices, such as a lack of an ethical culture, inadequate board oversight, and weak internal controls, as shown via case studies of large-scale corporate frauds. Corporations can be held more responsible and protected from fraud by a combination of a comprehensive legal framework, autonomous boards of directors, and stringent auditing processes. Examining the ways in which cultural and legal factors impact the efficacy of anti-fraud measures, this study analyzes and contrasts corporate governance practices across different nations. The findings highlight the importance of ongoing research and development in governance approaches, enforcement instruments, and worldwide collaboration in order to address emerging threats, notwithstanding the crucial role of effective corporate governance in reducing the likelihood of financial crime. In order to ensure sustainable business practices on a global scale and to enhance fraud prevention, the report concludes with recommendations for bettering corporate governance systems.
